James Lynden Brady, 93, of Bennett, died Saturday, January 8, 2022 at home.  Lynden was born in Randolph County to Ernest and Viola Brady on October 18, 1928.

The body will lie in repose from 1 – 5 pm on Wednesday, January 12 at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett.  Funeral is at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 13 at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Bennett with Rev Don Edwards officiating.

Lynden retired from Ramtex after 40+ years of employment in the textile industry.  He spent many hours happily working on machinery of all sorts for himself and his family, and was always glad to lend a hand to fix something for others.  He liked helping people any way that he could.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.  He was the first-born of a large family and had a large family himself.

Lynden was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Gatlin Brady, his son, Melvin Brady, his sister, Elouise Simmons, his brothers, Wayne Brady and Leon Brady, and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Brady, Esther Brady, Candace Brady, and Myra Brady.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Debbie Brady, his daughters, Janette Farrington (Warren), Sylvia Ford (John), Pamella Brady Salisbury, and Karen Garner (Shane).  He is also survived by his brothers, Sam, Gilbert (Ann), Dwight, Steven (Iva), and Michael (Lois) and his sister, Janice Allen (Roy);  his grandchildren:  Mary Alice Christman (Monte), James Butler, Patrick Butler, Emily Ford (Eric James), Alex Ford, Annie Ford, Lillie Ring (Logan Shankle), Robbie Salisbury, Shanna Beane (Tim), Adam Garner (Stacie), and Jacob Garner (Jackie); his great-grandchildren:  Harlan Butler, Cordelia Butler, Timmy Beane (Kierra), Carl Beane (Megan), Tristen Garner, William Beane, Lily Jackson, Ben Garner, Lucius Garner, and Addison Garner;  and his great great-grandchildren:  Ayden Minder, Avery Beane, Walker Beane and Iszy Beane.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Christian Church cemetery fund, 5946 Pleasant Grove Church Rd., Bennett NC 27208.
