Jimmy Ray Kennedy, 65, of Robbins, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at his home. He was born in Moore County on May 7, 1956 to Jimmy and Alene Marie Kennedy. He was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church. He drove a truck for Townsend and Wilson Brothers and retired after 27 years. Jimmy loved music and was a great upright bass player. He owned and operated 705 Music House in Seagrove for several years. He often played at Clyde’s Pottery Barn. He enjoyed the fellowship of his musician friends.

In addition to his father, Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, Donny and brothers, Roy and Harvey.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pamela Kennedy, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Kennedy, of Robbins; son, Danny Ray Kennedy (Kelly), of Lobelia; mother and step-father, Alene and Roy Freeman, of Albemarle; sisters, Susie Kidd, Teresa Calloway (Joey), Delores Eudy (Wayne), Brenda Galloway (Lynn) and Renda Eudy (Charles), all of Albemarle; brother, Allen Freeman (Cindy), of Albemarle; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

A family memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at the Kennedy Family Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Martin and Rev. Wayne Eudy presiding.
