August Sutphin

August Raye Sutphin, 47, of Bennett, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at her home. She was born in Lee County on July 6, 1974 to LouAnn Jones Lee and Carlton Ray Binkley. August was a member of Bennett Baptist Church and had previously worked as a mail carrier. She was a loving mother and a great listener to her friends. She loved sweets and enjoyed long walks and reading. She treasured time spent with her family and friends.

August was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; sons, Kelly Modery and Mitchell Modery; brother, Christian Lee and her husband, Billy Sutphin.

She is survived by her sons, Steven Sutphin (Hannah), of Bennett and Jacob Lee, of Sanford; father and step-mother, Ray and Annette Binkley, of Bear Creek; mother and step-father, LouAnn and Tom Lee, of Sanford; brothers, Brennan Binkley (Edie), of Fayetteville and Robert Lee (Aimee), of Holly Springs; one grandchild and one due in March and a host of family and friends.

The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Bennett Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Strider presiding.
