Mr. Thomas Steven "MudGrip" Richardson, 60, of Seagrove, N.C. died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:45p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Pleasant Hill U.M.C., 5474 Pleasant Hill Road, Seagrove, N.C., and the funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Howard Moffitt officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Prior to the service and visitation, the family will be at the home of Glenda Purvis.

Thomas was born in Randolph County in 1955, son of the late Clinton Steve Richardson and Betty Van Dyke Richardson. He worked for Thomas Built Buses as a fabricator prior to his retirement. "MudGrip", as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was an avid sportsman and lover of the outdoors. He spent many hours with his family running fox hounds and enjoying hunting to its' fullest. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Jacob Robert Steven "MudFlap" Richardson of the home, Ethan John Taylor Richardson and wife Valerie of Seagrove, N.C. and daughter Hannah Danyelle Richardson also of the home.

Three sisters, Glenda Purvis and husband Andy of Seagrove, N.C., Sharon Davis and husband Sid of Liberty, N.C. and Dana Dillon and husband John of High Point, N.C. , Two nephews and a great nephew and neice.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to a charity of one's choice.
