Sylvia Brady Brown

Sylvia Dianne Brady Brown, 76, formerly of Bennett, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Asheboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Joyce-Brady Chapel with John Phillips presiding. The family will receive one hour prior to the service.

Sylvia was born in Chatham County on January 18, 1949 to Harvey and Ruby Brewer Brady. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and was formerly employed in the cafeteria at Chatham Middle School. She was later employed as a CNA at Brian Center. Sylvia loved dancing to live music and going to the beach. She loved her family and her spending time with them. She especially loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Dean Brady and sister, Irene Brady Covert.

She survived by her children, Sonya Penkava (Eric), of Franklinville and Greg Brown (Rachel), of Greensboro; brothers, Wayne Brady (Wanda), of Siler City, Harold Brady (Ellen), of Bennett and Michael Brady (Darlene), of Bennett; grandchildren, Locksea, Lila and Lasea Penkava and Jack and Ellie Brown and a host of family and friends.
