Ruby Brady

Ruby Frances Brewer Brady, 94, of Bennett passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Siler City Center. Due to the current COVID-19 mandate, no formal visitation will be held. A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Pastor Don Edwards presiding. Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open from 9:00 am-5:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2020 for friends who would like to sign the register.

Ruby was born on October 4, 1925 to June and Annie Hicks Brewer. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian church and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, crafts and gardening. She dearly loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Brady; daughter, Irene Covert; son, Gary Dean Brady; brothers; Edward Brewer, Cletus Brewer, Vernell Brewer and Jessie Brewer; sister, Alberta Brady; grandson, Byron Brady; and great-grandsons, Camden and Caleb Brady.

She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Brown, of Bennett; sons: Wayne Brady (Wanda) of Siler City, Harold Brady, of Bennett, Michael Brady (Darlene) of Bennett; sister, Geneva Brewer Williams, of Siler City; sisters-in law, Betty Brewer, of Bear Creek and Dorothy “Dot” Brewer of Ramseur; ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Christian Church, 5946 Pleasant Grove Church Rd., Bennett, NC 27208.
