Rev. Ronald Wesley Terry passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his home in Troy. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the First Wesleyan Church in Troy with Dr. Clifford Van Sickle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Rev. Terry was the son of the late Edward E. Terry and Ocie Mae Magner Terry. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou Russell Terry; sisters, Edna and Lillian; and brothers, Robert, Gordon, and Charles.
Rev. Terry was the pastor of WhyNot Wesleyan Church in Seagrove at the time of his death. He had served there since 1991. He also pastored in Chicago, Illinois from 1956 to 1983 and in Ramseur at Ramseur Wesleyan Church from 1983 to 1990. He was a past President of Illinois Right to Life and Clergy Concerned for Life.
He loved The Lord first and foremost. The Church was his life and family. He was a proud Papa. He also loved animals.
He is survived by his daughter, Cyndy Dawn Hornback and husband, Richard of Sophia; son, Russell Wesley Terry and wife, Kimberly of Greensboro; sisters, Betty Shaulis of New Marshfield, Ohio and Jean Reichard of Oviedo, Florida; grandchildren, Natalie Lynn Terry, Nathaniel Wesley Terry, Bradley James Hornback, and Stephanie Dawn Hornback. He is also survived by several loving Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 13, 2013 at the First Wesleyan Church in Troy, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The church is located on Highway 134.
