Rebecca Ann Garner

Rebecca Ann Garner, Age 59, of Seagrove, NC went to be home with the Lord on Monday January 05 at Autumn Care in Biscoe.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16th at 2 p.m. at Needham’s Grove Baptist Church with Pastor D.J. Harry and Pastor Arnold Comer presiding. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 1-1:45.

She was a 1984 graduate of North Moore High School and Randolph Community College with a degree in Nursing. She was honored to be named “Outstanding Nursing Student” by High Point Hospital at her graduation. She spent the majority of her nursing career as a RN at Randolph Hospital in the Emergency Room Department. She had a genuine love for taking care of people and was often praised as “being an excellent nurse” by those she has served. She ended her career with Hospice of Moore County. She was a people person and was well liked by her colleagues. She never met a stranger and loved animals, especially dogs. She never left a stray dog alone, she would always rescue it and bring it home.

Prior to her health issues, she loved to take girl trips with her sister and friends. She loved the beach and spent quite a bit of time there. She had the first swimming pool in the neighborhood and welcomed all to come and swim. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Her greatest joys in life most recently were her great nieces and nephew, Lynlee, Kaydence and Bennett. She always managed to have snacks, koolpops and surprises for them. They loved their Bec-Bec! Becca loved her family and her extended family and enjoyed playing Bingo with the Senior Saints at Church. She always had a zest for life and giving. She will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mildred Moore Garner, Sibling, Ronnie, her nephew, Adam and her faithful rescued companion Sophia.

She is survived by her brother Wayne Garner (Vickie), sister Brenda Garner Cassady (Charlie), and Brother Ricky Garner.

Her nephews and nieces whom she considered her children, Jerid Cassady, Will Garner (Kayly), Jamie Garner Long (Austin), Katelin Garner Johnson (Justin)

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Needham’s Grove Church or to Needham’s Grove Senior Saints, who she loved to play bingo with.

The family will be meeting at the home of Charlie and Brenda Cassady.
