Melvin Brown

Bennett: Mr. Melvin Brown 74, of 6812 Joe Branson Rd., Bennett, NC 27208 passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 30, 2013 at 2 pm at Mt. Zion UMC with Rev. Russell Brownworth & Rev. Chuck Rowland officiating. Burial with Military Honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brown was a Randolph County native and was a Navy Veteran. He had been a saw mill owner and then later worked in the textiles industry. He was a faithful dedicated and active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband of 50 yrs, dedicated father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents John Wesley & Mary Ida Brown, sisters Vera Rollins & Pauline Chrisco, brothers Raymond Brown & John Neil Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by Wife- Linda C. Brown of the home. Daughters- Carolyn Croom of Delco, Donna Miller of Bennett. Sisters- Irene Davis Of Asheboro, Annie Ruth Bland of Wilson. Brothers- Russell Brown of Bennett, Earl Brown of Robbins, Cleo Brown, J.W. Brown both also of Bennett. Grandchildren- Whitney Kujan, Carrie Allred, Tawny Davis, Zachary Miler. Great-Grandchildren- Dillon, Olivia, Sophia, Grayson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 30, 2013 from 6-8pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel, 3833 Chatham St., Bennett, NC 27208 and other times at his home.
