James "Lee" Britt, 85, of Robbins, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at First Health Hospice House. His wife of 62 years, Sylvia "Joyce" Willams Britt, 82, joined him 8 hours later on October 14, 2025. Their private graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Smyrna Church, where they were both members. The service was presided by Pastor Farrell Hussey and music was provided by Mike Garner.
Lee was born in Moore County on April 8, 1940, to Wilbert and Maude Cameron Britt. He served in the National Guard and was a NC Probation Officer for 38 years. He was also a cattle and poultry farmer, and enjoyed fishing and singing in the choir. He adored his family and lived life to the fullest.
Joyce was born in Moore County on March 14, 1943, to Lennie and Francis Britt Willams. She was a beautician for many years. She enjoyed cooking, trips to the mountains and the beach, and life in general. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to their parents they were preceded in death by their daughter-in-law, Khrista Britt. Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Williams and sister, Carolyn Hussey.
Lee and Joyce are survived by their children, Tyrell Cameron Britt, of Robbins, Stephanie Britt Trent, of Alpharetta, GA, and Mary Elizabeth Yow, of Robbins; grandchildren, Tristan James Britt, Jacob Cameron Britt, Brittley Elizabeth Woods, Avery William Woods, Cameron Bradley Woods, Macalister Drew Yow, and Britton Kinley Yow, and a host of family and friends. Lee is survived by his sister, Aileen Garner of Robbins and brother, Daniel Britt of Mims, FL.
