Lacy Clark

Mr. Lacy "Gilbert" Clark, Jr., 79, 0f Bear Creek, N.C., died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at Brush Creek Baptist Church in Bear Creek with Rev. Ray Gooch and Rev. Frank Taylor officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Joyce Brady Chapel in Bennett, N.C. .

Gilbert was born in Chatham County, N.C. in 1936, son of the late Lacy G. Clark, Sr. and Sue Cockman Clark. He was owner- operator of Clark Farms, specializing in cattle for many years. Gilbert loved auto racing and dove hunting and much time spent with family and friends. Being a member at Brush Creek, he served as a Deacon as well as the Sunday School Superintendant. He is a past board member of Central E.M.C. .

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Richard Bowers and his beloved dog "Fat Back".

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen G. Clark, of the home, one son, Doug Clark and wife Judy of Bear Creek, N.C. and one sister, Jane Burke of Siler City, N.C. . One grandson, Cody Clark, of Wilmington, N.C. and one granddaughter, Macy Clark of Bear Creek, N.C. and his brother-in -law Joe Gunter and wife Joyce of Siler City, N.C. .

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made in Gilbert's memory to the Randolph Hospice House 446 Vision Drive Asheboro, N.C. 27203.
