Kaylee Nicole Thompson, 15, of Bennett, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at her home. The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Beulah Baptist Church with Dr. Neal Jackson and Pastor Terry Warren presiding. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the committal. Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026 for friends to sign the register.
Kaylee was born in Orange County on November 20, 2010 to Jeremy and Ashley Saferight Thompson. She attended Beulah Baptist Church. She was a rising sophomore at Chatham Central High School. Kaylee loved spending time with friends and family, especially spoiling her little sister, Kinsley. She had a heart of gold, always putting others first. She had a deep love of animals, especially her cat, Mae and her dogs, Roxie and Harley and any stray that might come her way. Kaylee enjoyed painting and creating artwork. She loved the beach and the lake.
Kaylee was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kay Ward and Harold Saferight.
She is survived by her parents, Jeremy and Ashley Thompson, of the home; sisters, Khloe and Kinsley Thompson, of the home; brothers, Karter Thompson, of the home; Chandler Thompson and Mason Thompson; paternal grandparents, Phyllis and Jamie Hobbs, of Graham; great-aunt and great-uncle, Tanna and Doyle Powers, of Bennett and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to thank the Bennett community for their prayers and support.
A very special and heartfelt thank you to our cousin, Carri Hampton and her husband, Bryant. Their love, prayers and generosity have been invaluable.
