Joanne Gaddis

Mrs. Joanne Carlton Gaddis, 69, of Bear Creek, died Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at her home. The family will hold a memorial service celebrating her life at a later date.

Joanne was born in Chatham County, N.C. in 1951, daughter of the late Raymond Carlton and Lessie Bright Carlton. She worked as a dairy farmer most of her life. Joanne was of the Baptist faith and loved to spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed a good television show and loved her fur baby “Rat”.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Lewis Gaddis; daughter, Patricia Lanier; brothers, Edisel, Raymond, Kenny, Lonnie and Harold; sisters, Joyce Lucille, Mary Jane and Joyce Maxine.

She is survived by four children, Ronald L. “Bo” Gaddis and wife Teresa of the home; Pam Jean Gaddis and Richard Fox of Bennett and Linda Staley and husband Dwayne of Erect and Robert Gaddis of Bear Creek; brothers Bobby, Roland and Roger and one sister, Suzanne Hales; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
