Jerry Blankenship

David Jerry Blankenship, 63, of Bear Creek, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at UNC Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Jerry was born in Pike County, KY on March 11, 1963 to Cecil and Cora Blankenship. He worked in well drilling in West Virginia. After moving to North Carolina, he was a well-respected painter in Chatham and surrounding counties.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Davina; three brothers and one sister.

Jerry is survived by his son, David Royal Blankenship (Brittany), of Bear Creek; grandchildren Cameron and Michael Blankenship, both of Bear Creek; sisters, Dottie Blankenship and Karen Blankenship; brothers, Ricky Blankenship and Mike Blankenship, all of West Virginia; caregiver, Jennifer Dunn, of Bear Creek and a host of family and friends.
