Henry Welch

August 11, 1915 — June 24, 2012

Bennett: Henry Arvil Welch 96, passed away Sunday June 24, 2012 at Siler City Care & Rehab. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday June 27, 2012 at 11am at the Bennett Baptist Church where he was the oldest living member, with Rev. Tim Strider officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Welch was a Chatham Co. native and served in the Army in WWII in the 743 Tank Battalion.After serving in the military he worked as a fixer at Burlington Ind. Mr. Welch loved being with his family and playing with his grandchildren, and loved gardening. He was the son of the late Joe & Ada Scott Welch. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Joey Welch, and brothers- Lynn, Lester, Frank, Howard, and Porter.
Mr. Welch is survived by Wife- Mildred Maness Welch of the home. Son- Darrell S. Welch & wife Kathy of Robbins. Daughters- Judy W. Hussey & husband Tommy of Robbins, Connie W. Maness & husband Clifton of Bennett, and Faye Jean Sutton of Burlington. Brothers- Nuby Welch & wife Velma of Farmer, Ted Welch & wife Maxine of Bennett. Sister- Nellie W. Brewer of Bennett. 8 Grandchildren 9 Great-Grandchildren .Visitation will be held Tuesday June 26, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel, 3833 Chatham St., Bennett, NC 27208 and other times at his home.
