Mrs. Helene Bass Maness 84, of High Falls, NC passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at her home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10am at High Falls United Methodist Church where she was a member with Rev. Tony Baurichter officiating.
Mrs. Maness was a dedicated nurse assistant with Dr. John Monroe and Dr. Henderson in Pinehurst. She also worked for several years with Klopman Mills. She loved nature- birds, animals, and flowers were most often the focus of the poetry she wrote. She had a passion for her church and the church family. She kept a prayer journal and often saw to it that the church was decorated with flowers. She was a nurse at heart and often provided loving care to those who were shut-in and also dedicated herself to visiting those confined to nursing homes. She was a talented quilter and loved to sew.
She was preceded in death by her Husband- Julian Maness, her Parents- Jesse Leslie & Pearl Smith Bass, Brothers- Jesse Leslie Bass Jr., Vernon Bass, Howard Bass, & Charles Bass, Sisters- Dixie Daniels & Charlotte Hedding.
Mrs. Maness is survived by Daughters- Patricia Medlin & husband Ted of Robbins, Cathy Hussey & husband Harold of Robbins, Vickie Auman & husband Andy of Aberdeen, Dawn Kidd & husband Farrell of High Falls. Son- Calvin Maness & wife Diane of High Falls. Grandchildren-Wayne Brown, Sharon B. Gibson, Nicholas Medlin, Dustin Maness, Tina H. Ayers, Brandon Hussey, John Christopher Auman, Kelly Marie Auman, Dennis Kidd, Tamara K. McNeill. Great-Grandchildren- Melisha Kennedy, Tiffany Brown, Ashley Gibson, Georgia Ayers, Charlotte Ayers, Campbell Ayers, Kayley Garner, Luke Hussey, Alyssa Hussey, Kayla Kidd, Olivia Kidd, Lindsay McNeill, Ethan McNeill, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Sister- Margaret Caddell of Vass.
As with keeping her request there will be no visitation, but the family will receive friends at the home of her Daughter- Dawn Kidd, 724 Charlie S. Rd., Robbins, NC.
