Helen Marie Wright Brady, 91, of Bennett, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 at the Siler City Center. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Bennett Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Strider presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Narthex one hour prior to the service and will return to the fellowship hall following the committal. Joyce-Brady Chapel will be open from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026 for friends to sign the register.
Helen was born on August 22, 1934 to Harvey and Bonnie Davis Wright. She graduated from Coleridge High School in 1953 and worked at McCrary Hosiery Mill for 13 years. She was a faithful member of Bennett Baptist Church. Helen operated Brady’s Grill in Bennett for 44 years where she served the best hot dogs with her homemade chili and slaw. She also meticulously cleaned the church as long as her health allowed. She was a former owner of Joyce-Brady Chapel. Helen was a kind and gentle lady who always greeted everyone with a smile. She loved her church, her community and her family.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Andrew “Jack” Brady and her brother, Olin Wright.
Helen is survived by her sons, Michael Alan Brady (Lori) and Patrick Dwayne Brady (Lorriann); grandchildren, Meghan Brady McLeod (Josh), Dylan Brady (Ireland), Anna Brady, Nicole Brown (Jason) and Leigh Ann Sumner; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Brown and Easton Brown; sister, Lucy Emerson (Louis); sister-in-law, Myrldeen Wright and a host of family and friends.
The family extends their thanks to the staff of The Siler City Center for the care and compassion shown to Helen.
