Ethelda Stumpf

Bear Creek: Ethelda Phillips Stumpf 81, of 7490 Siler City-Glendon Rd., Bear Creek passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2 pm at Tyson’s Creek Baptist Church where she was a member with Rev. Bob Wachs, Rev. Roger Thomas, & Rev. Scott Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Stumpf was a Chatham County native and was a retired nurse from Chatham Hospital where she worked for many years. She was part owner of Southern Supreme Fruitcake Co. where she loved coming up with new candy items. Her passion in life was caring for her family, friends and everybody she came in contact with. She was preceded in death by her husband- James Merle Stumpf.
She is survived by Daughters- Dawn Stumpf of the home, Bonnie Reynolds of Carthage, & Jamie Brady & husband Rodney of Bear Creek. Son- Douglas Merle Stumpf of the home. Grandchildren- Holly Reynolds & fiance’ Jeff Wunsch of Aberdeen, Chad Reynolds & wife Christina of Penn., Jordan Brady & Aaron Brady both of Bear Creek. Sisters- Berta Lou Scott & husband Hoyte of Bear Creek, Sue Ann Farlow & husband Frank of Raleigh. Brothers- Billy Joe Phillips & Garry Phillips both of Bear Creek. Numerous nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 from 6-8pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel, 3833 Chatham St., Bennett, NC 27208 and other times at her home. You may offer online condolences at www.joycebradychapel.com
