Debbie Ray Applewhite, 56, of Siler City, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at UNC Hospital. A private service will be held.
Debbie was born in Broward County, FL on June 14, 1967 to Roy Thomas Applewhite, Sr. and Elizabeth Turner Applewhite. She was a member of Bennett Baptist Church and was an on-air personality (Debbie Doo) with WNCA Radio for thirty-two years. Debbie was very artistic, had a great sense of humor and was known for her patience. She loved life in general and watching “General Hospital”. She loved her family and especially adored her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Applewhite and his wife, Donna.
Debbie is survived by her son, Larry Wayne Sullivan (Alison), Pittsboro; twin sister, Beckie A. Brewer (Alan), of Bennett; brothers, George Applewhite (Janet), of Ellerbe and Ralph Applewhite (Trish), of Siler City; grandchildren, Chloe Sullivan, Valerie, Natalie, and Graham Allison and Kaiden Githire; numerous loved nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
