Mr. Charles Robert Jones 65, of 2538 Fall Creek Church Rd., Bennett went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 27, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 3 pm at Fall Creek Baptist Church where he was a member with Rev. Scott Allmon & Rev. John Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gordon Jones.
Mr. Jones was a Chatham County native and had worked as a Project Inspector. Charles retired from the construction unit of the North Carolina Department of Transportation after 31 years of service. After retirement he worked for private CEI firms, KCI Technology, & also Wilbert Smith Associates as Project Inspector on several major highways in North Carolina. One of the major projects he worked on was the Triangle Parkway Toll Road in Wake and Durham Counties. In addition to being a faithful member of his church, he served as Deacon, Assistant Sunday School Teacher, Cemetery Committee, Past Custodian, sound booth operator, and a RA Leader at church. He was a farmer and a avid reader.
Mr. Jones is survived by his Wife- Trudy Pearce Jones of the home. Daughter & Son-In-Law- Nicole Jones Coates & husband Steven of Bennett. Son & Daughter-In-Law- Aaron Jones & wife Christy of Bennett. Grandchildren- Hannah Dahn, Savannah Jones, Breannah Jones, Jade Coates, & Braxton Coates. Mother- Doshie Maness Jones of Bennett. Sister & Brother-In-Law- Linda J. Brady & husband Gene of Bennett. Nieces- Anita Brady, Sharon Moore, Tonya Miller, & Marta Purvis.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 6-8pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel, 3833 Chatham St., Bennett, NC 27208 and other times at his home. You may offer online condolences at www.joycebradychapel.com Memorials may be directed to: UNC Hospice, 480 Hillsboro St., Pittsboro, NC.
