Carolyn Moore

March 15, 1949 — April 29, 2015

Carolyn Marguerite Smith Moore went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 29, 2015. She was 66 years old. Born to LG Olen “Bill” Smith and Patricia Ann Smith, she was elder sister to one brother. Her family lived in Robbins, NC where she attended Elise and North Moore High Schools. She went on to business college in Asheboro, NC where she earned her graduate certificate.  In the following years she graded cloth at Milliken Textiles where she met John Lynn Moore. They were married and lived in Richmond County where she worked as a librarian and office staff until her husband preceded her in death in 2002.

Carolyn was a member of Exway Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead, NC for many years where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She enjoyed basketball and serving her community through her work with her husband with the volunteer Cordova and Ellerbe Rescue Squads. Her lasting legacy was her sincerest wish that all those around her knew the Gospel as the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons, William Curtis Chriscoe and his wife Heidi Chriscoe and their children Sterling Newsome and Curtis Chriscoe of Youngsville, NC and John Eric Moore and his wife Katie Moore of Chapel Hill, NC. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia Smith, and brother, David Smith and his wife Teresa Smith of Robbins, NC and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday May 1, 2015 from 10:00am to 11:30am at Joyce-Brady Chapel, 3833 Chatham Street, Bennett, NC 27208. Private interment will follow at 2:00pm at Exway Baptist Church, 2119 County Line Rd Mount Gilead, NC 27306.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Community Hospice and Home Care of Sanford, 1836 Doctors Drive, Sanford, NC 27330.
