Candace Brady

December 9, 1951 — December 17, 2015

Mrs. Candace Waller Brady, 64, of Bennett, N.C. died Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Firsthealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m. on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Rev. Billy Joe Brady and Rev. Tom Capps officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The visitation will be held Saturday evening (12/19/2015) from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyce Brady Chapel in Bennett, N.C.

Candace was born in Stanly County, N.C. in 1951, daughter of the late Dwight Waller and Mrs. Iris Almond Waller of Albemarle, N.C. .  She taught elementary school at Norwood Elementary in Albemarle for 33 years, where she was known and loved by many. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Bennett and served in many community enrichment programs. Candace was known for her love of animals, but her greatest love was her family and friends and time well spent with all of them.

In addition to her mother Iris, she is survived by her husband Dwight of the home, two sisters, Gail Howe and husband Terry and Crystal Capps and husband Rev. Tom Capps all of Greenville, S.C., one brother, Mike Waller and wife Louise of Greensboro, N.C., five step-daughters, Marta Purvis and husband Tony of Putnam, N.C., Lisa Cockman of Carthage, N.C., Anita Brady, Sharon Moore  and Tonya Miller and husband Todd all of Bennett, N.C., ten step-grandchildren and seventeen step-greatgrandchildren, four nieces and three nephews and a host of friends.

The family has requested in addition to flowers that contributions be made to the Dwight Waller Memorial Scholarship Fund/West Albemarle Baptist Church   336 Church Street  Albemarle, N.C. 28001 or a charity of one’s choice.
