Beauford Maness

September 7, 1924 — October 7, 2015

Mr. Beauford Odell Maness, 91, of Seagrove, died Wednesday, October 07, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, N.C. .  Visitation will be held Friday, October 9, 2015, from 6 -8 p.m., at Joyce Brady Chapel in Bennett, N.C.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at New Center Christian Church in Seagrove, N.C., with Rev. Jonathan Burris and Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Beauford was born in Moore County, N.C. in 1924, son of the late James and Ethel Maness. He served in the U.S. Army Field Artillery during World War II earning the rank of Tech 5. Upon his return to civilian life, he worked in textiles and enjoyed farming and raising livestock. He was a lifelong member of New Center Christian Church, serving passionately in his faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Louise, Three brothers, One sister and One grandchild.

He is survived by Three daughters, Lola Ellen Maness, Teresa Carol Maness and Devonna M. Atkins all of Seagrove, N.C. and  One son, Bruce Maness and wife Leigh Ann also of Seagrove, N.C., Four grandchildren and Eight great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care given by the staff of Hospice of Randolph County and a special friend Dave Weafer. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made in Beauford’s memory to Hospice of Randolph County 416 Vision Drive   Asheboro, N.C. 27203.
