She owned and operated a daycare for 20+ years and was known throughout the community as “Mama Beck”. She loved the outdoors, gardening cooking and working in her flowers as she could not be idle or content staying inside.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Robert Mack Beck of the home; children Vance Beck and wife, Wanda, of Asheboro; Tim Beck and wife, Donna, of Seagrove; Vickie Jackson and husband, Mickey, of Robbins; Nathan Beck and wife, Shondra, of Highfalls; sister Sylvia Sheffield of Ramseur; brother Roy Nichols of Robbins; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She lived a life of service to others, always putting others above herself. “Mama Beck” epitomized 1 Corinthians 13:13, “There are three things that will endure – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love.”
