Mrs. Margaret Ann Warner Thomas, 88, formerly of Sanford, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett, N.C. with Rev. Edwin Moore presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins.

Margaret was born in Moore County, N.C. in 1929, daughter of the late William Mason Warner and Della Fields Warner.  Margaret loved to cook and enjoyed watching old western movies. She worked  in textiles before she retired.  In her later years, at Autumn Care, she loved to color and play bingo with her fellow residents, whom she loved to be around.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Dewitt, and Billy Warner and sisters Thelma Smith, Hazel Bryant and Eva Luther. She is survived by sons, Mike Phillips and wife Rolanda of Carthage; Jimmy Phillips and wife Lynn of Lancaster, S.C. and Billy Phillips and wife Tammy of Goldston; Five step-children; Sister, Virginia Phillips of Glendon; Grandsons, Jake, Jonathan, Tyler, Daniel and Mark; Granddaughters, Natalie, Monnie, Brooke and Gina; Great-grandchildren Carter, Luke, Rider, Bailey and Paisley and a host of family and friends.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers or bringing food to their homes for contributions to be made in Margaret’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
