Mrs. Juanita Baxter Cox, 91, of Bennett, N.C. died Monday, August 7, 2017 at Randolph Health in Asheboro. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Joyce - Brady Chapel in Bennett. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Rev. Don Edwards, Rev. Gary Moger and Mr. Jimmy Hill presiding. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

Juanita was born in Chatham County, N.C., November 17, 1925, the first of 12 children born to the late Charlie Herbert Baxter, Sr. and Josie Mae Bray Baxter. She worked for Acme-McCrary Hosiery in Quality Control, retiring after many years of service. As a member of Pleasant Grove, Juanita was very active with the Ladies Fellowship and enjoyed her church family. She loved quilting and made many quilts and baby quilts for her children and grandchildren. Juanita's greatest joy was her family, spending each moment possible with them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl, daughters; Janice Andrews and Amy Brown, son; Jerry Cox, grandson, Forrest Andrews, sisters; Dorothy Brown, Christine Williamson; brothers, Donald, C.H. and James Baxter. She is survived by her son, Tommy Cox (Jeannie) of Ramseur; daughters, Barbara Hardister (Ray) of Bennett, Patricia Hughes (Bud) of Ramseur, Debbie Dennis (Wayne) of Asheboro, Lisa Mote (Chris) of Siler City; Brother, Harold Baxter (Ruby) of Asheboro, Sisters, Myrldeen Wright (Olin) of Ramseur, Jearldeen Kivett (Richard) of Staley, Eva Joyce Brown (Raymond) of Ramseur, Rosina Routh of Asheboro, and Jeanette Williamson of Asheboro. Son-in-law, Darrell Andrews of Siler City. Half-brother, Lynn Rachel of Greensboro. 14 Grandchildren, Deanna Edminsten, Rodney Cox, Jerry Ray Cox, Donna Stone, Angel Dwyer, Marty Hughes, Robbie Hughes, Chris Brown, Jason Brown, Nicholas Craven, Caroline Craven, Crystal Rich, Zach Gaines, Carlie Mote. 27 Great Grandchildren, 11 Step Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild and a host of family and friends.

In addition to flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Pleasant Grove Christian Church Building Fund P.O. Box 94 Bennett, N.C. 27208 or a charity of one's choice. The family wishes to say a special "Thank You" to Dr. Honeycutt, Christina Weaver, Nurses and Staff of Randolph Health for their excellent care and compassion during this time.
