William Scott

August 21, 1928 — November 15, 2014

Mr. William D. “Bill” Scott, age 86, of Goldston, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 17, 2014 at 2pm at Fair Promise United Methodist Church in Glendon, with the Rev. Tony Baurichter officiating. Mr. Scott was born in Chatham County, and was the son of Lonnie E. Scott, and Nellie Margaret Dixon Scott. He was  retired with 42 years of service with Townsend Farms, and a poultry farmer. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and most of all loved being around his family especially his grand-children, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Coleene P. Scott.

Mr. Scott is survived by Daughters- Jan S. Marley & husband Frank of Robbins, Judy S. Rowland & husband Mike of Carthage; Sons- Gary Scott & wife Karen of Goldston, Ronnie Scott & wife Bonnie of Goldston, Charles Scott & wife Sharon of High Falls. Grandchildren- Dana McLain & husband Phillip, Stephanie Cox & husband Rob, Matthew Scott & wife Stacey, Carrie Duggins & husband Murray, Allison Hussey & husband  Jeff, Jenna Maness & husband Bradley, Megan Scott, Victoria Marley, and Clif Marley; Great-grandchildren- Ryan Cox, Caleb Cox, Coleene Cox, Graham Cox, Weston McLain, Braden McLain, Madie Rae McLain, Courtney Burton, Tyler Scott, Matt Hussey, Carley Hussey, and Aaron Hussey. Sister- Dixie Holt & husband Elmer of Siler City. Brothers- Hoyt Scott & wife Berta Lou in Bear Creek, and Bob Scott & wife Shelby in Bennett.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 17, 2014 from Noon-1:45 at the church, prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. You may offer online condolences at www.joycebradychapel.com.  Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett is servicing the Scott family.
