Raymond Kennedy

December 22, 1930 — July 28, 2015

Mr. Raymond Arnold Kennedy, 84, of Highway 705 North of Robbins, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home. He was the son of the late Garland Alexander Kennedy and Verna Mabe Kennedy.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Verla Wright Kennedy.

Services will be held 11am Friday, July 31, 2015, at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church in Robbins, with Dr. John Williamson, Rev. Edwin Moore, and Eddie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with Military Honors, provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church in Robbins.

Mr. Kennedy along with his late wife, Verla started their commercial quail business farm, Kennedy Game Farm in 1959. Together they developed the Kenwild Bob White Quail strain. They served the public with bobwhite quail chicks, started quail, quail eggs, and grown quail for many years until retiring in 2008. Upon their retirement their daughter Rhonda and husband, Scott Key took over the business.  Mr. Kennedy was a member of Acorn Ridge Baptist Church. He also loved to fish, hunt, and gardening. He loved his family and grandchildren, but most of all loved the LORD.

He is survived by his Daughter-Rhonda Kennedy Key and husband Scott of Robbins; Grandchildren-Nathan & Natalie Key of Robbins.
