Rachel Dunlap

August 13, 1917 — March 17, 2015

Rachel Florence Monroe Dunlap age 97, of Dan Road in Robbins, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst.

Funeral Services will be held 2pm Friday, March 20, 2015, at Big Oak Christian Church in Biscoe,  with Dr. Ron Chaney, and Rev. Grady Blakely officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6-8pm on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett, and other times at the home on Dan Road in Robbins.

She was the daughter of the late Fuller Monroe and Addie Morgan Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband Bowden Dunlap; Son, Julian Dunlap; Brothers-Roy, Albert, Odell, and Worth Monroe; and Sister Mildred Monroe. She worked at Robbins Mill in Robbins, and later in life she raised chickens and farmed with her late husband Bowden.

Ms. Dunlap was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Seagrove. She loved to garden, plant flowers, sew, and quilt. She also loved her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, but most of all loved the LORD.

She is survived by Son-Wayne Dunlap & wife Mary Lou Dunlap of Robbins, Daughter-Linda Henson & husband Ray of Ramseur; Brother- Richard Monroe & wife Ethel Lee of Aberdeen; Grandchildren-Patricia(Pat) Hughes of Randleman, and Lynn Hartley of Clayton; Great-Grandchildren- Heather & Nathan Hughes;Sister-in-law-Thelma Monroe of Biscoe.
