Ms. Maryland Geneva Brady, 92, of Siler City, N.C., died Tuesday, January 17, 2017. The funeral service will be held at Holly Spring Friends Meeting in Ramsuer, N.C. on Friday, January 20, at 1 p.m. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the graveside service in the Family Life Center at Holly Spring Friends Meeting. Rev. Todd Brown and Rev. Ricky Sessoms will be presiding.

Geneva was born on August 2, 1924 in Randolph county to parents Thomas Elwood Cox and Omie Cornelia Cockman. She lived in the area the duration of her life, working over 30 years in Research and Development at Burlington Industries. She most enjoyed her free time outside tending to her garden, teaching at her church’s vacation Bible school, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children, Jackie B. York and husband Alan of Cary, and Tim L. Brady and wife Karen of Siler City; two brothers, Hilton Cox and wife Patsy of Ramsuer, and Gilmer Cox and wife Carol of Booneville; two grandchildren, Amanda Schafer and Matthew York; two step grandchildren, Jazmine and Marissa Snider; and two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Emmett York, along with a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Austin Brady, along with her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Randolph Hospice House, 446 Vision Dr., Asheboro, N.C. 27204, and the Holly Spring Friends Meeting Cemetery Fund, 2938 Holly Spring Rd., Ramsuer, N.C. 27316.
