Mr. Kenneth Wade Bray, 61, of Bennett, N.C., died Friday, December 9, 2016 at Chatham Hospital in Siler City.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Joyce – Brady Chapel in Bennett, N.C. .

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, with Rev. Don Edwards presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kenneth was born in Chatham County, N.C. in 1955, son of the late James Wade Bray and Genevieve Caviness Bray. He retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation after 35 years of dedicated service as a Motor- Grader Operator. He loved visiting with all the boys at Routh’s Grocery on a daily basis and the fellowship they shared.  Kenneth was a talented musician, playing banjo, pedal steel guitar and dobro.  He played with the Pioneer Quartet for 30 years and most recently, the Glory Road Gospel Band. He assisted the Tri-County Ruritan Club with many events, but his favorite time of year was the Christmas Season. He loved the lights and decorations and celebrating the reason for the season. He was preceded in death by his father in 2005.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cynthia Brewer Bray of the home; one son, Justin Bray and wife Emily of Siler City, N.C., his mother, Genevieve C. Bray of Bennett, N.C., his sister Lois Ann Warren and husband Terry of Bennett, N.C. and his niece April Warren also of Bennett, N.C. , one granddaughter, Emma Grace Bray and one, soon to be grandson, Grant Petty Bray, that is due in May of 2017 and a host of family and friends.  Condolences may be offered online at www.joycebradychapel.com .
