Mr. James Roger Moore, 76, of Robbins, N.C., made his journey to heaven on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He trusted God and shared his faith and God's grace, even during his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Roger was a member of Robbins First Wesleyan Church where he served in many capacities. He was a 1958 graduate of West End High School. Before he retired, he worked as a supervisor at J.P. Stevens and as a dye-man at Telfda Corporation. He enjoyed gardening and working outside as well as visiting friends, especially those of whom were sick and shut in. Roger was a member of Woodmen of the World. He touched countless lives through his compassion for others, meek spirit and selfless acts of kindness. His words of wisdom and philosophy on life have been instilled in our hearts.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Brown's Chapel Chrisitian Church with Dr. Donald Davis, Sr., Rev. Sam Swinney and Rev. Jeff Karnes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will recieve friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service and afterwards in the fellowship hall.

In addition to his parents, Alfred Virgil Moore, Sr. and Ossie Sanders Moore, Roger was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Velma Dianne Moore and daughter-in-law, Michelle Maness Moore and siblings, Darlene, Gilbert, Cedric, Mary Lee, Clarence, Marvin, Delsie, Radie, Mamie, Essie, Roy, John and Swannie.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Velma Ritter Moore of the home, children, Debbie Allen (Dennie) of Star, Tony Moore of Robbins, Wendy Ritter (Billy) of Robbins, Denise Greene (Darris)of Seagrove and Jodie Moore (Maria) of Robbins.

Grandchildren, Daniel Moore, Seth Burdette(Jessica), Kaitlyn Allen, Karla Allen, Stephanie Greene, Taylor Moore, Kendall Greene, Alex Moore, Kayden Moore, Cruz Moore, Andrew Moore, Ezekiel Moore, Great-Grandchildren, Brayden Burdette, Emmeline Burdette and Judah Riddick-Reynolds.

Siblings, Mildred Dupree Tonkins, A.V. Moore, Jr. (Lillian), Betty Green, Leonard Ross Moore(Judy) and Wayne Moore, Brother-In-Law, Arnold Ritter (Sylvia) and Sisters-In-Law, Sandra Moore, Maybelle Williams (Bill) and a host of nieces and nephews and cherished friends.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their acts of kindness during this time and a special thank you to Firsthealth Hospice for their exceptional care during his illness.
