Glenna Maness Allred

December 26, 1910 — April 11, 2015

Glenna Caviness Maness Hussey Allred, age 104, of Green Road in Robbins, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral Services will be 2pm Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Robbins, with Rev. Lindsay Collins & Bob Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6-8pm Tuesday April 14, 2015 at Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett.

She was the daughter of the late James Alfred Caviness & Florence Ritter Caviness. She was a retired cafeteria manager at High Falls Elementary School. She loved gardening, cooking, working in her yard, puzzles, quilting, and talking about old times. Ms. Allred was a proud patron of Carolina Fried Chicken in Robbins, better known as the Chicken Hut, where she was known as Granny. She loved all her family, but most of all she loved the LORD.

Ms. Allred was preceded in death by her parents; Husbands-Ralph Maness, Lonnie Hussey, and William Allred; Son-Billy M. Maness & wife Arlene; Sisters-Geneva C. Brady,  and Swannie Dunn; Brothers-Dewey Caviness, Sr., Harris Caviness, Quinton Caviness, Howard Caviness, Marvin Caviness, and Jennings Caviness; Son-In-Law- Herman Russell; Grand-Daughter-in-Law- Pam Maness.

She is survived by her Daughter- Montie Mae Russell of Robbins, and son, Johnny R. Maness & wife Clara Lee of Asheboro; Grandchildren- Jimmy Russell & wife Linda of Robbins, Jerry Russell & wife Diane of Robbins, Larry Russell & wife Karen of Chapel Hill, Tommy Maness of Asheboro, Ralph Maness, Jr. & wife Cindy of Asheboro, Lisa Lefler & husband Mitch of Concord, Sandy Stephenson & husband Jerry of Swansboro, and Tonya Maness of Asheboro. Sisters- Elouise Bray of Chapel Hill, and Lena Leonard of Siler City. Great-Grandchildren-13, and Great-Great Grandchildren-11.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, Memorials be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 1535 North Moore Road, Robbins, NC 27325. The family would also like to thank Crossroad Assisted Living in Asheboro, Hospice of Randolph County, and the staff of Randolph Hospital in Asheboro for the care they gave Ms. Allred.
