Gerald Franklin ("Andy") AndersonJune 17, 1937 ~ September 11, 2017 (age 80)
Mr. Gerald Franklin "Andy" Anderson, 80, of Bennett, N.C., died Monday, September 11, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. . A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill U.M.C. Cemetery in Robbins, with Rev. Quint Dunlap and Rev. William Saunders presiding. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
Andy was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1937, son of the late Maurice Anderson and Alice Brizle Anderson. He served his country in the U.S. Army at the rank of CWO-2, piloting helicopters with the 145th Aviation Battalion in Vietnam. Andy was a 32nd degree Mason. He worked many years prior to his retirement hauling auto parts to the manufacturing plants. In his off time he enjoyed hot-air ballooning and radio controlled airplanes. He loved the outdoors and raising different breeds of animals, but his time with family and friends was most precious to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Anderson and a sister, Rose Haggerty.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Anna Chisholm Anderson of the home and one sister, Helen Livingston of Hudson, Florida and a host of family and friends.
