Clara Cox

November 6, 1931 — January 16, 2015

Clara Mae McNeill Cox, age 83, passed away Friday January 16, 2015, at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.  She had been a resident of Universal Healthcare in Ramseur. She was the daughter of the late Harrison McNeill and Flossie Williamson McNeill.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday, January 19, 2015, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Ramseur, with Rev. Bruce McLanahan, Rev. Mark Beane, and Dr. Rev. Howard McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6-8pm, Sunday Evening, January 18, 2015, at Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett.

She was a Moore County native, and a retired office assistant at Kayser-Roth in Ramseur. Ms. Cox was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Seagrove, taught Sunday school and attended Shiloh Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in the Marietta Lodge in Ramseur. Ms. Cox and her late husband loved to attend antique car shows, and listen to Bluegrass Gospel Music.  Ms. Cox loved to crotchet, do needle work, plant flowers, and garden work.  She also loved her family, especially children. She was preceded in death by her husband June Walter Cox, Sisters- Rona McNeill Brown & Cleadell  Williamson; Brothers- Harvey, Lloyd, Dewey, and Herman McNeill.

She is survived by Sisters- Myrtle Brewer Comer and husband JC of Seagrove, Rachel McNeill Bouldin of Asheboro, Viola McNeill Hayes and husband Lendis of Seagrove, and Betty McNeill Maness, and husband Bobby of Seagrove; Brother- Roy H. McNeill and wife Ruth of Seagrove; Sister-in-Law- Esther McNeill of Winston-Salem.  She was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
