Arnold Cox

January 25, 1936 — March 8, 2016

Mr. Arnold Edward Cox, 80, of Bear Creek, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Tyson's Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Scott Walker and Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will recieve friends Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Joyce Brady Chapel in Bennett, N.C.

Arnold was born in Chatham County in 1936, son of the late Robert Paul Cox and Lula Virginia Hussey. He owned and operated Arnold Cox Poultry and Cox Enterprises until his retirement. He served as a deacon at Tyson's Creek Baptist Church, where he was a long time member and was Past-President of the South Chatham Lions Club.

Arnold loved sports, especially golf, baseball and Nascar Racing, as well as any sport his grandchildren were involved in. He loved spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Earl Cox, his sister, Mary Ruth Lopossay and a Great-Grandchild, Celia Jane Cheafsky.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maggie Cox of the home, One son, Tony Cox and wife Lou Ann and One daughter, Sherry Kivett and husband Randy, One brother, Lewis Cox and wife Alice all of Bear Creek. Four Grandchildren, Matthew Cox and wife Melissa, Tally Cox, Randi Jo Cheafsky and husband Jake and Seth Kivett. Three Great-grandchildren, Maddox Cox, Macalister Cox and Colt Arnold Cheafsky.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Tyson's Creek Baptist Church General Fund 10981 Siler City-Glendon Road Bear Creek, N.C. 27207 or to the South Chatham Lions Club % Ronald Scott P.O. Box 51 Bear Creek, N.C. 27207.
